Front porch chez Hattie. Too bad you can't smell the fragrance of the white hanging orchids. Many orchids have wonderful perfumes.
We went to one of those slow food gatherings last night at a neighbor's house. It was an all tapas and Spanish wine event. I made chorizos with red sweet peppers and breaded mussels on the half shell and also brought Spanish almonds from Trader Joe's. The best dish was octopus, or tentacles as Terry likes to call it. It's only very recently that Spanish wine has become available here, and some people were tasting it for the first time. It is different: oaky and sometimes harsh. It goes well with Spanish food.
So you have Trader Joe's in Hawaii. That makes sense. All the employees wear Hawaiiian shirts.

Alas, there is no Trader Joe's on the Big Island, nor on Maui or Kauai, but there is one on Oahu. Whenever I go to Seattle I bring back a suitcase full of Trader Joe's items.

I love the quality of the light in the photo.
I was wondering about TJ's over there, and how much 2 buck chuck is. Ohio has some kind of tax on wine, so 2 buck is more like 5buck.

Feel so Luddite because Trader's does not sing to me. Both my children, a coast apart, love it. Am only a fan of their chocolate bars.

My kids like The Schmoes, as they call it, because they can get their shopping done in a hurry. They are under constant time pressure and at the same time want to eat well, and The Schomoes is a big help.

I love Trader Joe's. I've never had octopus; but the chorizos with red sweet peppers and breaded mussels on the half shell sound mighty good Hattie. What a nice time. ~Joy
