Driving up to my cousin's to help with a vote counting project I spotted this over her wall and took a pic of it:
I would have passed it by if it were not for Cop Car's posting about her crepe myrtle.Cousin's crepe myrtle is huge, the way they grow in the south, as a person who has lived in Mississippi told me. It's at least 30 feet high. The wall is typical for our area: made out of lava rock, as are the walls on our property.
Now see how blogging makes you smarter and more observant?
I've been posting my photos small for faster downloads, but from now on I will post a few of them in this larger size, since I think just about everyone has high speed internet now.
It's overcast and sultry here. There is a tropical storm to the south of the Big Island which we are hoping will miss us. It has taken me until today to get over the strenuous hike we did last Sunday. I probably would have been OK if my sleep patterns weren't a little odd right now. I'm sleeping well again and not too disturbed by sad thoughts.
I'm quickly finding out that everyone my age is on meds of one kind and another. I'm trying to avoid meds. Yes, it is tempting to say well, I want to eat and drink and be merry the way I always have and take meds to compensate for it, but I think that's the wrong approach. I know that eventually I'll have to take the meds AND modify my eating drinking, etc habits, so why not start cleaning up my act now and delay this downward trend as long as I can?
My, I sound cheery, but that's old age for you!
