Here is where I really value my Kindle. I downloaded the Vancouver newspaper and two Toronto newspapers and read through all the reportage and commentaries on the GS 20. It would be too hard on my eyes to read so much from a computer screen. The range of commentary is quite fascinating to me as an outsider, and I now feel quite well informed on the matter. Their press is better than ours, my fellow U. S ers.
The overriding concern I detect is that for Canada's reputation as a peaceful and civilized place to live, work, and do business. Not to say there isn't a lot of plain old outrage along the whole political spectrum. Some of it's familiar and what you hear in the States when these events happen, but the Canadian desire for a quiet, safe and orderly society, for their reputation as such, does jump out at me as a very prominent aspect of everything I read.
