I've never seen this much snow on Mauna Kea. Tried to take a photo, but the contrast is too great for me to get a good shot. How about that! This is the mountain we live on, believe it or not. There was also a 4.3 quake, part of a cluster of quakes taking place on Kilauea, that woke me up last night. It was like someone shoved the bed. And now the trades seem to be weakening, and we may be getting more vog. Nature keeps us alert around here, for sure.
I'm sitting here awaiting snow and you show this glorious vista!!! I guess I like it (i.e., snow) from a distance. :)

That's a lovely photo you found. Actually not so far different from the Vancouver area on a sunny day. Sorry to hear about quakes and vog though - take care.

Kay: All that snow is above 8,000 feet or so, I believe. It's fun to swim in the ocean while looking up at the snow-capped mountain, as we have done sometimes.
Marja-Leena: It was on Facebook, so I figure that it's in the public domain.

Wow! That's a really remarkable shot. I've never seen it like that. We heard about that cluster of quakes you guys had. Scary.

I have a really good photo of Mauna Kea that Brandon gave me, too.
