All the tosh about motherhood around this blog lately has sent me back to Tom Lehrer and his classic tune, Oedipus Rex. Look, if you can't see the funny side of it all, you are in big trouble.

Good old Tom Lehrer! He may have an underground immortality abrewing, as I listened to him when I was in college.
Love the rhyme of Oedipus with duck-billed platypus.

Ah, yes. I have several LPs and CDs, plus a song book, of Tom Lehrer. When my brothers and I get together (a very rare event), we usually end up singing Lehrer's songs.
(Free of any complex complexes, I think.)

I first heard him in my college dorm in 1957 and bought the original recording, which I have somewhere. Isn't it nice to be able to find all these things again on You Tube?
