You betcha. There are a lot of things I'd rather ignore. I can feel myself getting sucked into the campaign and it's very early yet. Today Chris Matthews was handicapping the race already on who's going to win. Some poll had Romney and Obama at 50/50, but it's just their 24 hour news cycle and they have to have something to talk about. Speaking objectively, the only way it could be an even split is because the country is half fundamentalist/tea bagger/racist/birther. Otherwise, there is a clear choice in quality of the candudate.
The two things that worry me most now are the Wisconsin recall election and the possible overturning of the new health care law.
We are in for a long, hot summer, and I am not looking forward to it. It's hard not to become obsessed by all this, though, because the situation is so dangerous and yet there is little we can do to make it less so.
You always have interesting links, Hattie. Have you seen this one?

I finally weighed in on politics/racism in my blog, something I rarely do. As you say, it is a scary time for Americans. Hope Obama wins the election.
