View from our condo window. The cafe owners leave chairs out for the street people to use. I see people in them day and night.
The highlight of this visit was watching the NBC coverage with the family of the election. Such a thrill when they looked at trending Ohio and declared it for Obama! Today we are going to indulge ourselves in consumer joys: Trader Joes, IKEA. We brought two extra suitcases which we intend to fill up. Terry ordered his fancy espresso machine, which he's having sent to Hilo.
Having nixed the Nation Cruise, we are planning to do things on the home front that we have been neglecting: repainting the kitchen cabinets, getting the yard under control, etc. etc. and I want to spend more time on pottery, too.
Yes, it's a new day, and I feel that the younguns have proven that they can take over now. We are going to run and play, mostly, until that inevitable day when the Reaper comes to call.
Kind of a depressing last paragraph...but I get what you mean.

I mean it humorously. It is great to be 73 in good health and with enough money for the amenities of life.

I'm with you, Hattie, huge sigh of relief, don't want the bubble to burst and turn it over to the young 'uns.

Isn't that funny, I had the opposite reaction to your closing statement. I find it uplifting and comforting.

We did the same thing buying lots of stuff (some we really didn't need) at Trader Joes and Ikea. It's a good thing we didn't have more suitcases. I would have really gone crazy then. The two we had were filled to capacity!
