I am hiding in my office with the windows closed and a space heater at my feet. I have not used the heater for several years. People in harsher climates may laugh, but I don't find it pleasant in the house when it's 65 and dank. My little office is a refuge.
What started out as a small patch of clouds has turned into huge storms. We will probably get rained on for days. The wind has been gusting from the north. Don't we look small on that map!
Poor us!
Yikes! Batten down the hatches and do take care. I'll be watching the news with the hope this doesn't get as bad as it looks.
All my hopes for a safe storm ....

Feminema: Well, this is forcing me to finish up some onerous projects, since I can't run and play.

Hope you stay warm. It seems like Hawaii has been getting cooler the past few years. I have seen more space heaters at restaurants and other businesses than I remember in the past.

We get accustomed to our own living conditions, don't we? (How could we not?!)
When you wrote about your local temperature not getting above 70, I'm sure that it gave some readers a good case of the harrumphs. (It gave me the giggles, I must admit.) Others could write about temperatures that are not getting above 20, or whatever, and about how their homes never reach 70 during the (local) winter! It's analogous to the thread, elsewhere, concerning how our differing financial statuses affect how regressive we feel various sales taxes to be.
At any rate, thanks for both postings, and for all of the others that give us (me!) a little peek into what it's like to live as you are able to do. I guess that is why I read blogs - to try to keep connected to/aware of other ways of life.
Do stay warm. It's no laughing matter to be cold - no matter what the temperature that induces the feeling!

We were so lucky with the Great Aloha Run because it was storming on the other mornings. It's been rainy and windy almost daily. At least it's not snowing.
