I don't want to bum you out, but have you heard of Robert N. Proctor and his book The Nazi War on Cancer?

I was thinking more along the lines of Seven Days in May.

Thank you for keeping us posted on your condition. You are in my thoughts.

I'm so proud of the people who are out protesting. It's cold and they have jobs and families and still they are out there. I'm only able to make phone calls and send emails but if I could I'd be out there too.

Florence: I'm happy that my daughter is out there demonstrating and that my husband is phoning our Senators telling them to filibuster whoever Trump nominates for the Supreme Court.
Hope is not dead.

Brandon: Just skimmed the article, but my feeling is that the Nazis did not place much of a priority on treating cancer patients. Lots of doctors and scientists came to the U.S. to get away from the Nazis, and they were well advanced over their American counterparts. One of them, a Dr. Stern, was our family doctor.

"What we have to be watching closely is how the military goes." Interesting thought. I guess a military coup is in the offing if Trump goes completely apeshit.

The helpers are everywhere. Our own small university stepped forward and offered free tuition to any refugee and then added USian refugees too.
A military coup is more than a whisper. End of American Empire. Masses armed forces banked thousands deep saluting the new Emperor.

It pays to remainoptomitic. My sister survived Lymphoma. You can do this. Think positive thoughts.

Thank you so much for letting us know what you are up to. You just take care, and we will keep you in our thoughts.

Well, my sense of humor has returned. Also I am keeping bummer crepe hanger types away from me, which helps my mood a lot.

Good luck tomorrow!

Z: Thanks, Leslie. Due to a mixup, I won't get the treatment and diagnostic until next Tues. We are going to have to rethink our situation here and will probably end up in Seattle.

"We are going to have to rethink our situation here and will probably end up in Seattle."

You mean you might move back to the mainland?

Brandon: It depends on what treatment I need. I can't go on flying to Honolulu and back all the time. In Seattle everything would be convenient, and my children are there. We shall see.

I'm a firm believer in the value of positive thought but especially when dealing with health issues, also humor for the release of endorphins. Doesn't mean don't deal with daily reality or consider options, even take actions, for vaious scenarios as you're doing.

Many ways to deal with health care costs and where the line is drawn by those riding herd on Medicare & of course the insurance companies but raises lots of issues. Nazis went to the extreme with it, governed by solutions beyond the pale. Medical professionals ideology has some influence, too, not to mention personal ethics and values. Gudelines for service delivery important and is one reason why I've maintained important to monitor all that -- why Medicare makes some of cuts they do. Impt to watch especially with a single payer system. Am a strong believer that "one size does not fit all" and while impt to know percentages & what works for "most people" that it's important to keep in mind individual differences.

Protests continuing in L.A. area. Calif. joining others to maintain sanctuary status. Group growing to secede from Union. So far I don't think that's a good idea or even that it could be done unless more States became disillusioned with Fed. govt to support our doing so, but we're needed. Of course watch the military as that's one of the steps in the whole process and we're moving pretty fast -- looks a lot like Adolph's playbook, but took A. years to get to that point, then sudden. Inc. in citizen violence comes first giving Pres. justification for instituting law and order with law enforcement, then military, martial law to unleash all sorts of legal powers. Needs yes men and compliant justice system.

Cont. to focus on you! :-)

All this time I saw your fascism piece at the top and thought you weren't posting for a while. Also, I've been rather busy and not checking everyone carefully or at all. Now I have to catch up. Biopsy?
