Well met in Vancouver!
Marja-Leena, Fred, Terry and I had a wonderful lunch date! This is the second time Marja-Leena and I have met, which was at the time of the last Vancouver Folk Festival, two years ago.
Not even the gloom could get us down. The setting is Granville Island, looking toward the high rises of downtown. The Restaurant, which is first rate, is The Dockside, where we had excellent local salmon.
That evening at the Festival, it was not as cold as the previous evening, and there was quite a lightning display.
What a strange summer this is. More like early spring, except that locals tell me it's been going on like this for months.
Nice shot, thanks Terry! Good thing it stopped raining to get this shot. We had a great time, thanks so much for taking the time to get together. Hope you are able to see some of the Folk Festival in between showers and enjoying the family reunion.
Your blog seems to be working alright. Will you be seeing Anne?

Looks like y'all had a great time.

Marja-Leena: Yes, the blog is all OK now. I'm so glad we did this. I hope to see you in Hawaii some day.
Kay: We sure did. And watch out. Life is strange, and some day I might get out your way!

Lovely to meet blog friends!

Musings: Wish we had explored Granville Island instead of freezing at the Festival!
Gigi: Indeed it is. And strange, too, to meet people who have been leading parallel lives in other places.

Great photo! Good to see you all so cheerful against that rather grim and soul-less background. Friendship is what matters.

Natalie: You would not believe this is one of the most beautiful cities on earth from looking at that photo. But it is.
We're all way better looking than that photo would indicate, too.
I in particular have the misfortune of being highly unphotogenic.

Hattie, I lived in Vancouver for about a year many years ago so I know it's a beautiful place. But it sure has shot up higher in the sky since those days.
As for being unphotogenic, I bet I'd come first in a contest to find the most upg. If we meet one day, we can be photographed together and I'll prove it! I have actually met Marja-Leena and Fred so I know they look fine. And I like y'all in this photo anyway.
