The sun came out this a.m. I can hardly believe it. During our visit to Marja Leena and Fred's house yesterday, the rain came thundering down so hard I thought I was in Hilo in the middle of a tropical rain storm!
Terry and I had such a good time with Marja-Leena and Fred, talking about so many things: the internet, education, health issues. I loved sitting in their beautiful house having coffee and Marja-Leena's home made cake with strawberries and feeling quite European; coffee and cake in the afternoon is a ritual I remember with fondness from my days in Germany and Switzerland. It is a joy to be with people like Fred, whose family was from Germany, and Marja-Leena, who is Finnish. Marja - Leena showed me her studio and some of the work I had appreciated on her blog. Later we went to a Greek restaurant in their neighborhood. Terry and I both had the lamb, a treat for us.
Thank you, Marja-Leena and Fred, for this wonderful visit!
Thank you, Marianna and Terry, for coming and your kind words! We certainly enjoyed much conversation on many topics, including THAT RAIN! Lovely sunshine to wake up to today - hope your drive back to Seattle went smoothly. I have just downloaded my photos, yours are much better than mine. Hope to get a post in today between helping Fred with the work in the ensuite bath.

What a nice time you all had there! The last time I ate lamb was at Monsoon India in Waikiki. Delicious with naan.

Oh, I wish I could have been with you! It is so difficult to be in more than one place at a time.

All that rain is what keeps everything so green and lush. How wonderful that you had such a lovely visit with terrific friends.

I'm glad you're having fun. Maybe someday I'll visit the Pacific Northwest.

How lucky you are to see Marja-Leena's work in real time. Must be even more compelling though it does look wonderful on line. Good conversation and food: who cares about rain!
