Hello all,
My mom died peacefully in her sleep last night with my sister Julia and my father Terry by her side. There will be details about a memorial gathering to take place some time in December. I will post those details here once I have them. I don't have any eloquent things to say but I do know that you all and this blog were an imporant part of her life.
Alice
Oh Alice, I am so sorry. You have my condolences. I will always remember and miss your mother.

Oh, this news saddens my heart. Your mom was such a terrific writer. She conveyed her feelings so well with words. I know all of her readers thought she was so good at what she did. I'm sure you did, too.
My condolences on your loss, and condolences to the rest of the family and even to her dear little cat. She will be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences on losing your mother, and your dad losing his wife. I don't have a blog, but enjoyed popping in and reading her and a host of other blogs. She went so quickly, and I'm sure her pets will miss her presence, too.

Oh my gosh! I've been away so long from visiting blogs, and just stopped by to say hello. I can't believe it! I thought your mom had so much more time and I'm heartbroken. She was such a loving, beautiful, brilliant woman. Please give Terry a hug for us and tell him Art and Kay send their condolences.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm a regular commentator on Nancy Nall's blog and Hattie occasionally commented there too. I wish you all Grace and Peace.

There are no words to express how sad it is to see such a special human being leave us. I will always be grateful that I had the chance to come across the wonderful writing Marianna produced. How proud you, her family, must be to have had her in your lives. I will miss her but never forget her.

Thank you for letting us readers know. My heart goes out to you and your family. Losing a mother is a difficult chapter in life. But something makes me think that Hattie has prepared you well for it.
I have been very fortunate to have found Hattie's blog, albeit late, and I was immediately struck by her sharp observations and clear analysis, always refreshing and never without compassion, kindness and certainly never hopeless. And soon enough, I started to look forward to her posts. I will miss her.
